Frederik Zeuthen (b. 1996) is a Danish composer based in Copenhagen. He has previously studied a Master’s degree in composition under Bent Sørensen and Staffan Storm at Malmö Academy of Music in Sweden and a Bachelor’s degree at The Royal Academy of Music, Aarhus in Denmark with teachers Niels Rønsholdt, Simon Steen-Andersen and Juliana Hodkinson.
Zeuthen has composed for a long variety of Danish and international orchestras and ensembles, including Ensemble MidtVest (DK), Norrköping Symphony Orchestra (SE), Mivos Quartet (US), Jönköping Sinfonietta (SE), The Royal Academy’s Symphonic Orchestra, Aarhus (DK), Ensemble Airborne Extended (AU), Admeta String Quartet (DK), Aarhus Chamber Orchestra (DK) and The Youth Ensemble DUEN (DK). His pieces has furthermore been commissioned and premiered by internationally renowned soloists, such as Christoffer Sundqvist (FI), Julian Arp (DE), Janne Thomsen (DK), Kristoffer Hyldig (DK) and Natalie Clein (GB).
With a keen interest in films, Zeuthen has scored several short films and documentaries with screenings in cinemas across Denmark and on Danish public TV (DR).
Zeuthen is the recipient of the Léonie Sonning Talent Prize 2022, Annik and Lars Leander Foundation’s Composer’s Scholarship 2023, The Royal Swedish Academy of Music (KMA)’s Local Scholarship, and winner of the international DYCE Project (Discovering Young Composer’s of Europe) Composition Competition 2022, funded by the European Union.
